At Halisi Agri, we don’t ask farmers to try something we haven’t tested ourselves.

That’s where Abubakar Ali comes in. Originally from the island of Pemba, Abu leads our field trials, making sure we get real insights from the same conditions our farmers grow in.

With a degree in Crop Production and Management, he’s passionate about agriculture because it creates jobs, improves food security, and strengthens rural communities. He also loves the mix of science and hands-on work, experimenting with ways to grow better.

This year, we’re trialling mulching, spacing, organic inputs, and biochar to see what actually works. The goal? Share practical improvements that have real impact on yield and soil health.
